How to request an interest rate review
A calm, factual approach to asking your lender to revisit your rate.
Know your numbers
Have your outstanding principal, current rate, benchmark and remaining tenure ready. Work out what a lower rate would mean, so you know what's worth asking for.
Ask in writing
A short, polite letter that requests a review — not one that demands an outcome — tends to get a clear answer. Ask about any conversion fee and whether the change would affect your EMI or tenure.
It's the lender's decision
No calculator or app can promise a rate cut. Treat any figure as an illustration until the lender confirms it in writing.
